FARHAN AKHTAR, a producer, director, and a successful actor is going to ROCKON again on the big screen through his new upcoming movie “KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK” which is going to release on 26 febuary,2010. FARHAN playing as a lead role in the movie .The movie  is also produced by him. After proving himself as a successful director  by giving successful movies to the audience like DIL CHAHTA, DON, LAKSHYA ,  after the success of his first movie as a actor “ROCKON “, He is warmly accepted  by the industry as well as by audience.

The Story of the movie “karthik calling karthik” revolves around two main protagonist in the movie karthik which is played by Farhan Akhtar, a lonely reclusive character having no faith on his destiny, unconfident and speechless.  Everyone takes benefit of the guy .  and the actress DEEPIKA PADUKONE as SHONALI MUKHERJEE playing a character of  chain smoker, , she is bold, bindaas , confident, independent , she is very much focused towards her carrier and life, she enjoys when she goes out, she is today’s girl, you can say her character is complete opposite to KARTHIK character which shows how they get along  and how SHONALI help KARTHIK to come out from his shell. This  movie will be a privilege for  Deepika Padukone moving away from her regular glamourous roles ,and also proved her acting skills. DEEPIKA adopted completely different appearance as compared to other movies., her hairstyle in the movie also very different but attracted . Surely audience would be waiting for this.

The main plot of the movie is basically a “ROMANTIC SUSPENSE THRILLER”. The main character in the movie KARTHIK is a normal person who has lots of emotional problem because of which KARTHIK has become self-doubting person, and unfortunately how his life get change when he start receiving phone calls by a person having the similar name when the clock strikes 5  which forms the principal of the movie ,alike title of the movie suggest “ KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK”, the title perfectly suited the story line of the film. The film also give some valuable message to the audience ,how  phone calls can change the life as the karthik in the  movie pays for these calls.

The movie is produced by FARHAN AKHTAR and RITESH SIDHWANI , DIRECTED BY VIJAY LALWANI. CASTING of th movie is extremely perfect because every actor perfectly suited their character in the movie-FARHAN AKHTAR IS PLAYING AS KARTHIK NARAYAN, DEEPIKA PADUKONE AS A SHONALI MUKHERJEE, RAM KAPOOR AS MR. KAMNATH, SHEFALI CHHAYA AS MRS KAPADIA.

Actors are very happy because they are getting positive response for their movie “ karthik calling karthik  “ and the promos of the movie are very well appreciated by the  film industry and by audience . MUSIC of the film also getting  great response, youngsters liking “KARTHIK” songs.

MUSIC is composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. The background MUSIC is composed by Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale.
